  Field Trips
It has been said that students remember 10% of what they hear, 50% of what they see, but 90% of what they do.  Understanding this, the staff at Summit Christian School emphasizes hands-on-learning:  students here will visit more than 150 sites in their school career.

SCS elementary students will experience the following field trip opportunities:  overnight stay at McKinely Museum, trips to Kirtland Farm, Beckwith Apple Orchard, Hale Farm Village and Roscoe Village, tours of Schwebels Bakery and Harry London Chocolate Factory, and class activities at the Akron Zoo and Build-a-Bear.

Our middle school and junior high students experience tremendous opportunities as well:  field trips to science centers, nature reserves, a Renaissance Fair, and local historical sites.  They will also visit the following places during their week long field trips in the spring:  Williamsburg, Eisenhower Farm, Gettysburg Battlefield, the Holocaust Museum, Appomattox, Washington D.C., Monticello, Jamestown, and Harper's Ferry.
